OVERVIEW

The Subterraneans was a very short-lived band from Cork. The 4-piece originally came together under the name The Breaks in 2012. The four had been studying in Ashton School in Cork and during transition year decided to form a band. None of them has previously been in a band so during this first year they were learning their trade. In Spring of 2013, the band decided on a name change and became The Subterraneans. While using this name, the band was busily working away on its debut EP in Fergal's shed. About a month before the release of the EP in September 2013, the band decided on a further name change and became The Careers. The EP contained 6 tracks in total including 'All The All The Whiles', 'If You Don't Know' and 'Big Mistakes'. While performing under The Subterraneans moniker, the band is also known to have written tracks such as 'Black Mammoth' and 'Leaving Song'. As for The Careers, this was to be a short-lived project also. By 2015, the band had run its course. In August of that year, Luke had announced a new project called Damsel. However, the project's live line up had a familar look to it - featuring Eoin, James and Fergal as well as Graham Cooney.
