OVERVIEW

Saramai & The Swords was a band from Navan, Co . Meath. Active during the early part of the 2010s, the project was fronted by the aforementioned Saramai Leech. Saramai is the younger sister of Oisin Leech of The Lost Brothers. Her band, The Swords, comprised of Cormac O'Keeffe [Guitar & Vocals], Kev Mulvey Bass Guitar], Joy Booth [Rhythm Guitar & Vocals], Andrew Snow [Drums & Vocals] and Paddy Smyth [Bass Guitar]. Kev and Paddy swapped bass playing duties at some point. Cormac had performed with The Dolldrums who had later become Red Queen Contest. There is very little known about the group. However, they appear to have gigged heavily in 2011/12 time. There are no known releases from the group, however, songs from this period include 'Driving Time', 'His & Hers' and 'No Way Back'. 'Driving Song' is an excellent showcase for Saramai's beautiful vocals.

It's not clear when this project dissolved. However, Saramai later traded on her first name, releasing a pair of EPs. She later formed Pearly with Cormac O'Keeffe. Joy has gone on to be a solo performer in her own right.
