The group was active towards the latter part of the 2000s. The origins of the band date back to a Summer spent in Crete by Cormac O'Keeffe and Paul Clarke. The pair, both accomplished singers and guitarists, performed together night after night. Their influences included the likes of The Beatles, The Stone Roses and The Small Faces. On their return, the pair added Kev Mulvey on Bass Guitar and Barry Fitzgerald on Drums. This line up would go on to release an EP. This collection featured 'Ballad Of A Wheeler Dealer', 'Magic Car' and 'Sarcastic Swipes'. Around this time Kev was preplaced on Bass by Paddy Smyth. The band would go on to release one further EP before deciding to call a halt to proceedings. They felt a different apprach was necessary and the 4-piece reappeared shortly afterwards as the Red Queen Contest. The band had moved away from its Indie roots and now boasted a more alternative rock sound. Under this guise, the quartet released a fine self-titled album in 2013. Cormac also performed with Saramai & The Swords, Saramai and Pearly.
