DUBLIN | 1999 - 2002 |
OVERVIEW Creative Controle was formed in 1999 from the ashes of The Stonecutters - a 7 piece hip hop collective. When this sextet disbanded, 3 of its members Messiah J [aka John Fitzgerald], The Expert [Cian Galvin] and DJ Mayhem formed Creative Controle. They recorded a demo tape entitled 'The Dose' in August 2000. These demo tracks were heard by some notable listeners. The band went on to release a pair of singles - 'Bloodrush' [2001] and 'Check The Vision' [2002]. These two tracks became somewhat iconic on the Irish hip hop scene. In 2002, the band contributed the track 'Bloodrush' to the 'Kicking Against' compilation. The collection also incuded the video for the single. However, shortly after this, three became two with Creative Controle coming to an end. Fitzgerald and Galvin went on to form Messiah J & The Expert who garnered some success in Ireland. 1999 -Band formed 2001 - Release of 'Bloodrush' single 2002 - Release of 'Check The Vision' single - Band splits with Fitzgerald and Galvin going on to form Messiah J & The Expert |
