OVERVIEW

The Stonecutters was a hip-hop collective which was active at the turn of the century. The group is best known for counting John Fitzgerald and Cian Galvin amongst its ranks. The pair would later later go on to great success as Messiah J & The Expert. The remainder of the group included Robbie Delaney, DJ Splyce, Relevance, Grammar and DJ Mayhem.

It is understood that the band recorded an album ['Please Daddy, Don't']. It is equally reputed that this record contained an early version of 'Year Of The Genie', which would later appear on Messiah J & The Espert's album 'From The Word Go'. Alas, The Stonecutters album was never released.

The band eventually split with Fitzgerald and Galvin joining forces with DJ Mayhem to form Creative Controle. The trio released a couple of singles, 'Bloodrush' and 'Check The Vision' before three became two and that duo became known as Messiah J & The Expert.

There are no known official releases from the band.
