OVERVIEW Backhanders was a hardcore band based in Dublin. The group was active from the late 1990s to the middle of the next decade. The group featured Johnny McMonagle [Guitar] who had earlier platyed with Stress and Gav Beattie [Bass Guitar], formerly of The Bloody Mutants. The line up was completed by vocalist Nick and drummer Andy. Details of the band are sketchy. However, the group is known to have released one EP, 'Drinking The Profits' in 2004. The 5-track collection featured tracks such as 'Trapped (In The 80s)' and 'Good Thing' as well as the title track. After the group split, Gav went on to perform with The Bootleg Bootboys before concerntrating on his career as a graphic designer.
