FROM 2005 -
OVERVIEW
The various members of Zorilla have been working together on and off since 1992; the current line-up came together in 2005 when Diarmuid joined (there’s a lot of interesting history in between). The band comprises of Keelin and Ross Lee on vocals and keys respectively, Paddy Gilligan on guitar, Mark McManus on bass and Diarmuid MacDiarmada on drums. Zorilla has been compared to Grace Slick and the Great Society; Mr. Bungle; Astor Piazzola; Gong; Steeleye Span; Yes and King Crimson among many others – maybe this will give some idea how hard the band is to pigeonhole. The material ranges from folk songs through trance-rock to Klezmer-flavoured ska-punk without ever feeling like mere pastiche. The intensity and bewildering dynamic of Zorilla shows leave audiences agog everywhere they play.
