| OVERVIEW Yngve Wieland was born in Germany but raised in Sligo. He was influenced by his dad's love of the Blues and was soon bitten by the music bug himself. He emerged on to the Irish scene in 2004, originally as a solo artist. His sound has been described as Americana and Folk-Rock. The first example of the young artist's talent came in 2005 with the release of the 'Four Weeks' EP. The collection, released on his own Posttone imprint, featured tracks such as 'Snow In The East' and 'Good Times Are The Hardest To Understand'. The third track from the EP, 'Easier For You' was contributed to the 'Gigsmart ::: The Compilation Returns' collection later that year. By 2008, he had put together a full band which became known as The Innocent. This lineup included his brother, Demian on Drums. Ned Cartwright on Piano, Vocals & Guitar and Simon Brown on Bass & Backing Vocals. That year also saw Yngve relocate to London and release his debut album, 'Tell Men This'. The 11 track collection features guest performance from Bennie Reilly and Michelle Considine. The following year he released his second EP. 'Have You No Love' featured the title track and was backed by 'Before We Call It A Night' and 'Cigarette Smoke Floats'. By 2010, Wieland was now trading as Yngve & The Innocent. The year also saw the release of his third single, 'Nothing Was Delivered'. 2004 - Emergence on to the Irish music scene 2005 - Release of 'Four Weeks' EP 2008 - Relocation to London - Release of 'Tell Men This' album 2009 - Release of 'Have You No Love' EP 2010 - Release of 'Nothing Was Delivered' EP 2011 - Release of 'Draw A Line' single 2012 - Release of 'You'll Be Mine' single [09 April] - Release of 'The Sadness Of Remembering' album [22 July] |
