OVERVIEW We Town Criers is a rock band from Ballinlough, Co. Roscommon. The line up features Dermot Kelly [Vocals & Guitar], Pat Nolan [Bass Guitar], Michael Sheil [Guitar] and Gearoid Connaughton [Drums]. The quartet had been playing together as Town Criers since 2006 before deciding on a slight elongation of the name in February 2012. During its earlier incarnation, the band released the 'Wake Up' EP in October 2010. That same year saw the band contribute the track 'Wake Up' to the 'Life Support' compilation in aid of Pieta House. The following year was an important one for the band. In May the quartet released 'Grind', the first single for the band since the name change. The single was backed by 'Convince Me'. The single served as an appetiser for the debut album. A second teaser, 'Weight Of Mind' was released in July. The album itself, 'Swing Beast' followed in September. The record was warmly received and showcased the band's versatility across all twelve tracks. 2012 - Town Criers decide on a name change and become We Town Criers - Contribution of the track 'Wake Up' to the 'Life Support' compilation 2013 - Release of 'Grind' singls [18 May] - Release of 'Weight Of Mind' single [22 July] - Release of 'Swing Beast' album [30 September]
