| OVERVIEW We Cut Corners is a musical duo from Dublin. The pair of John Duignan [Guitar] and Conall O'Breachain [Drums & Vocals] have known each other since childhood and, As We Cut Corners, has carved out a unique niche on the Irish musical landscape. 2010 saw the group release an eponymously-titled EP. They also contributed the track 'Pirate's Life' to the 'IMRO New Sounds CD 2010' compilation which was distributed with the Irish Daily Star newspaper. The band has released two full-length albums to date. The first record, 'Today I Realised I Could Go Home Backwards' appeared in November 2011. The album was, subsequently, nominated for the Choice Music Prize but lot out to eventual winner Jape for his album 'Ocean Of Frequency'. The sophomore record, 'Think Nothing' followed in 2014 and also scooped a choice Music Prize nomination. 2009 - We Cut Corners perform as part of the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival in Dublin [16 - 18 October] 2010 - Release of 'We Cut Corners' EP 2011 - Release of 'Go Easy' single [01 August] - Release of 'The Leopard' as a split 7" release with The Danger Is who contributed the track 'Nothing Stranger'. [24 September] - We Cut Corners perform as part of the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival in Dublin [06 - 08 October] - Release of 'Today I Realised I Could Go Home Backwards' album [11 November] 2012 - 'Today I Realised I Could Go Home Backwards' is nominated for the Choice Music Prize [January] 2013 - Release of 'YKK' single [13 October] 2014 - Release of 'Best Friend' single [16 February] - Release of 'Blue' single [12 May ] - Release of 'Think Nothing' album [25 April] - Release of 'Mammals' single [18 August] - Release of 'This Is Then' single [15 October] - Release of 'Stop The Cavalry' single [05 December] 2015 - 'Think Nothing' is nominated for the Choice Music Prize [January] 2016 - Release of 'Oh' single - Release of 'The Cadences Of Others' album [04 November] |
