| OVERVIEW We Are Losers is the latest musical project from Gavin Elsted. Better known from his time with the Choice Music Award winning band Super Extra Bonus Party, Elsted started working on other projects when that band went on hiatus. Adultrock was an electronic project., however, he also wrote and recorded some material which could be best described as fuzzy indie-pop. He soon found himself putting together a band which included SEBP colleagues Steve Conlan [Guitar] and Gary Clark [Drums]. The final piece of the jigsaw saw Bronwyn Murphy-White added as bass guitarist. Bronwyn is better known from her time with Grand Pocket Orchestra. The band released a self-titled debut EP in August 2010. The EP featured 'The Narcissist', 'Empty Head' and 'Windbreaker'. In early 2011, the group contributed a cover version of the Caribou track 'Leave House' to the Quarter Inch Collective compilation, 'Quompilation # 1'. A live album, 'Live At Popicalla #5 [07/07/2011]' was made available as a promotional internet download. This was simply a teaser for the band's debut single 'Sunset Songs'. 2010 - Release of 'We Are Losers' EP [16 August] 2011 - Release of 'Sunset Song' single [15 July] - We Are Losers perform as part of the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival in Dublin [06 - 08 October] |
