| OVERVIEW VOIP was a musical project started by Brendan McEvoy. Brendan had been a veteran of such outfits as Mesner and Ever 27 as well as his own Macaboy solo project. The VOIP acronym is usually used in technology to mean Voice Over Internet Protocol, however, Brendan views it as meaning Very Ordinary Important People. VOIP came together in 2010 with McEvoy enlisting the support of Ronan Byrne [Drums], Phil Daly [Bass Guitar] and Joey Kennedy [Lead Guitar]. Ronan had worked with Hogan. Phil was an ex-member of Mesner while Joey had played guitar with the likes of Whitewater and Gorilla Radio. The band recorded a first track 'Ego' in late 2010. The song was produced by Niall Breslin [The Blizzards]. The band is also believed to have recorded a second single 'Try'. However, some time after this, VOIP came to an end. Brendan went on to form SircleS with former members of The Blizzards. 2010 - Band formed - Release of 'Ego' single 2011 - Release of 'Try' single - Band split |
