GALWAY 2007 -
OVERVIEW
Trenches is a hardcore band from Galway. Forned in 2007 as a four-piece with a line up of Kieran Griffin [Vocals], Gabriel Hielscher [Guitar], Simon Kenny [Drums] and Jonathan Lynch [Guitar & Vocals]. The members had previously played with bands such as Captain Spaulding, Ghundi, Exploded Face and The Boy You Hit Is Dead. It was this line up that recorded the 'Pig's Throne' demo in 2008. The 5-track release featured titles such as 'Shellteeth', 'Planet Sloth' and 'Honest Injun'. Later that year, the band's number increased with the addition of Garret O'Malley on bass and Peter Montgomery on guitar.

In October 2010, the band released its first proper EP. The self-titled collection included 'Carrier', 'Vices', 'Bloodbubble', 'Irreparable' and 'Inferiority Fetish'. A year later, the band teamed up with Drainland for a split release. Trenches' contribution to the package was the track 'Vaccine', a 14 minute epic.
