FROM 2004 -
OVERVIEW
TKO was formed in May 2004. Initially the band entered into an intense rehearsal period to perfect the bands sound and style. Within two months the band were playing venues such as Eamonn Dorans, Sugar Club and The Hub. These early gigs were well received and enabled the band to develop their energetic and entertaining live show. They continued to gig and write new material, moving on to larger venues such as Temple Bar Music Centre, Crawdaddy, The Village, Whelans and even venturing North to Auntie Annies.

In March 2005, TKO reached the finals of the Brave New Stage competition. They were amongst the twenty bands chosen out of seven hundred entrants. The band hit the studio in April to record their debut EP, 'Hats Off'. One of Mic's songs, 'The One' was voted into the Top 100 songs by Hot Press in 2002, so the band knew they had the ability to produce quality work. The 'Hats Off' EP was launched in Whelans on Friday 13th May. The venue was packed to capacity and the atmosphere was electric. The 'Hats Off' EP was released On June 25th with an instore gig in Tower records.
