OVERVIEW Swords is an electronic pop band based in Dublin. The group was formed in 2010 by Diane Anglim [Vocals & Keyboards], Jarlath Canning [Bass Guitar] and Ian Frawls [Drums]. In February 2012, the band released its debut EP entitled 'Black Balloon'. The EP featured 'Go', 'Special' and 'Chasm' as well as the title track. The following year saw the band release two further singles - 'All The Boys' and 'Lions & Gold'. The latter was also the title of the group's debut album which followed in July. The reocrd was produced by Karl Odlum. Swords were now building a head of steam and were being favourably compared to the likes of the Yea Yeah Yeahs. The band was invited to perform at the annual Hard Working Class Heroes Festival in Dublin. On 27th September 2014, the band played to a live audience at Smalltown America's studio in Derry. In October this recording was made available as a live EP to download. The EP. 'Live At Smalltown America' featured live interpretations of new tracks 'Who Took Your Soul', 'Glock', 'Sitting On Walls' and 'Betty Machete' as well as 'Wicklow' from the'Lions & Gold' album. In 2016, the band returned with new material. Swords released a series of singles - 'Betty Machete', 'The Letter' and 'Sixty Thousand Years' - to whet the public's appetite for the new album.
