CRUMLIN & TALLAGHT 2002 -
OVERVIEW
Following on from the great success of their debut single "A Day Like Today" Sundrive are working on their upcoming album release (in the new year). Various radio sessions are being recorded in the meantime with the John Creedon show on RTE Radio 1 being the most prestigious broadcast to date.

Michael is from Crumlin on Dublin's Southside and came to music relatively late, at 16, first playing guitar and then switching to bass after hearing the Beatles track "Rain". He has worked professionally as a musician ever since, both live and in the studio, providing backing vocals and instrumental backing for many other artists. He has been vegetarian since the age of 13, and lists "anything from Govindas" as his favorite food. Influences range from The Beatles, Steve Earle, Shawn Colvin and Ron Sexsmith to Elvis Costello. Michael detests football with a vengeance, and describes the World Cup as a month of absolute torture and misery for him. "You can't escape! People who have no business discussing football are at it, caught up in it! I went to B&Q during the matches".

Steve is a Dubliner, hailing from the sprawling suburb of Tallaght. He has been playing guitar since he was 7, played in his first band at 13 years of age and began writing his own songs soon afterwards. Since then he has worked as a professional musician, backing many of Ireland's top performers both live and in the studio. He is soft-spoken and understated, leading people to mistakenly believe he is shy. Put a guitar in his hands, however and things change… He is the type of guitarist who makes others go home and want to saw their hands off. Steve is an avid sports fan, especially fond of F1 and football. His influences include The Beatles, AC/DC and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Steve and Michael met while working on a project for a third party in 1997 and began collaborating, initially merely providing guitar and bass duties for each others recordings and progressed to writing and recording as the band SUNDRIVE in 2002. They made their live debut at O2 in the Park on Sunday August 18th 2002, to an estimated 100,000 people!!
