OVERVIEW The Stranded Circus was a rock band which was active during the first half of the 2000s. There is very little known about the group. The band seemed to centre on the axis of Conor Brennan [Vocals, Acoustic Guitar & Synths] and Steve Doyle [Guitars] who appear to have been present throughout the band's existence. The band recorded a demo in 2002 and the line up on that recording also featured Bob McDonnell [Bass Guitar] and Klark E. Clarke [Drums & Percussion]. The recording featured 3 tracks - 'Green Eyes', 'Dearest Eye' and 'The Beautiful Mission' - and was reviewed iin Hot Press Magazine. The band were described as 'brash purveyors of electro-acoustic rock'. During 2003, The Stranded Circus made two appearances at Songs From The Parlour acoustic sessions at the Stag's Head in Dublin. New guitarist, Davin Nagle also made an appearance during 2003. In 2004, the band released it's one and only EP, 'Headlites'. By this time, the lineup had changed and Conor and Steve were now joined by Damhan Nagle [Guitars], Nicky Brewer [Bass Guitar] and Paul Grace [Drums & Percussion]. The EP itself included 'Broken', 'Salute The Sun', 'The Beautiful Mission' and 'The Beast' as well as the title track. The EP was produced by Ken McHugh [Autamata] 2002 - Release of 'The Stranded Circus' Demo 2003 - The Stranded Circus perform at the Songs From The Parlour acoustic night in the Stag's Head, Dublin [29 October] - The Stranded Circus perform at the Songs From The Parlour acoustic night in the Stag's Head, Dublin [17 December] 2004 - Release of 'Headlites' EP |
