OVERVIEW Straglers are a three piece indie rock act based in Dublin who fuse elements of dance music into their high energy sound . The band have recently been receiving alot of industry attention, with excellent write-ups in NME, HOTPRESS, In Dublin and Connected Magazines, and are being tipped as the act to watch out for in 2007. In October the band were chosen from over 24,000 acts to play the prestigious In The City Festival In Manchester. Straglers track ‘Babyjane’ has been on heavy rotation on Dublin’s Phantom FM, featuring in the weekly charts on the station for many weeks, and featured highly in the Top 100 songs of 2006 countdown, voted for by the stations listeners. The band have also received airplay on the well established London station, XFM. Straglers recently added a drummer to the line-up, which has added a new dimension to the live show, which was described as truly unmissable by www.entertainment.ie. In April 2007, Straglers played a storming set at the IMRO 'Best Of Tour' Showcase in The Village, Dublin. Work on the debut album has started in the bands recently upgraded studio in Coolock, and is due for release in early 2008. 2008 - Release of 'Commanders' single [January]
