OVERVIEW StoneOcean are an Irish 3 piece who are constantly referred to as one of Irelands hardest working bands. Since their formation 3 years ago the band has been winning over crowds internationally with their upbeat original dance meets rock sound. They are hugely popular on the Irish College scene and have secured residencies in some of Irelands biggest colleges, StoneOcean are also the resident band for Dublin's largest combined college student night "Shindig" which sees the band constantly in the students eye. StoneOcean have also played one of the largest stages at Irelands largest outdoor festival Oxegen rubbing shoulders with acts such as Muse, The Darkness, The Killers and The Cure. To date the band are constantly gigging all over Ireland shunning "Mini Tours" the band have secured regular residencies in nearly 20 counties in Ireland all without a single covers set! In April of '05 StoneOcean recorded their upcoming debut album in one of Americas top studios located in New York, The album has been recently mastered by Chris Athens of Sterling Sound New York who has worked with Coldplay, The Beastie Boys, Limp Bizkit and many more world class acts. The band are currently shopping the album to several interested major American record labels. In support of their upcoming release the band undertook a month long headlining tour of the U.K in May, the tour was seen as a massive success with the band winning acclaim in foreign media and adding thousands of names to their substantial international mailing list. September '05 saw the band hit the top spot with not one but two songs on www.garageband.com, My Heroine and The Great Unknown entered the charts at #5000+ and rose to number one and two blowing away all international competition and making the band The Worlds Largest Independent Internet Charts top irish act ever, both songs received a large quantity of awards such as tracks of the day/week/month, best vocals, best production, best bass and best band. In october of '05 the band released a radio only single (My Heroine) and secured daily national play listing on 2FM and many more of Irelands largest radio stations, with 2FM's Larry Gogan hailing the band as "Absolutely brilliant" Closing events of '05 for the band included a support slot to The Dandy Warhols to a sold out crowd in Dublin's Ambassador theater, a huge outdoor show right in Dublin's heart, Temple Bar square and an invitation to appear at Imagine, The Waterford Arts Festival by Edel Dooley one of Ireland's most respected DJ's and music journalists. 2006 has seen the year start in style for StoneOcean as they joined buddy band Kopek (Recently voted top live act in the world) and played to a sold out audience in one of Dublin's most respected venues, Whelans of Wexford Street. My Heroine is still receiving daily national airplay and has been sat at the number 2 spot on www.garageband.com since it hit it back in September '05. Their album is near completion with respected American graphic designer Sean Evens (Who has worked with Maroon 5, Ac/Dc and Aerosmith amongst others) currently putting the finishing touches to the albums sleeve.
