OVERVIEW The Star Department is an alternative band based in Dublin. The current line up is a two-piece featuring Justin Commins [Vocals & Guitar] and Mick Orange [Drums & Keyboards]. However, the band started out as a four piece - with the lineup also including Dermot Madsen [Bass Guitar] and John Rogan. The group released a debut EP. 'Flickering Light' in 2006 which was very well received. Around this time, they also recorded an album entitled 'Auditions'. However, this was never released. Notwithstanding this, The Star Department was chosen as one of Today FM's 'Rising Bands Of 2007'. The band continued to lay down tracks with a view to a new release. The completed the collection entitled 'The Pea Green Boat' which is currently awaiting release. 2006 - Release of 'Flickering Lights' E.P.
