CORK 2002 -
OVERVIEW
Stanley Super 800 are a four piece indie-rock band from Cork. The group was formed in 2003 when some musicians all coming from different backgrounds - anywhere from trad to punk - decided to form a group and put out records. Rehearsals and recording began in a disused bus garage on the outskirts of Cork city.

The band have released 4 records to date, namely "The Moonlight E.P." Jan 2003 on Lamp Recordings, "Stanley Super 800" April 2004, "2-Hours-Late E.P." April 2005 both on their own label Bingo Records and "Louder & Clearer" Oct 2007 on Sofa Records. All of their releases have received rave reviews from the press and were all play-listed on several of the national radio stations. They have even gotten airplay in the US. Their last Album Louder & Clearer was nominated in the Choice Music Prize for best Irish Album of 2007.

They have toured Ireland several times over the past few years and have been packing out venues along the way. Also the band were voted "Best Live Cork Band of 2004" on Cork's 96fm's "Green Room" .Constant gigging has changed in the group's sound; they have left their folktronic/electro roots behind for rockier ground while still remaining fresh and avoiding musical cul de sacs. They have recently been doing a country music version of their set, incorporating banjo, fiddle, lapsteel and autoharp and this has turned out to be very popular amongst their fans.
