DUBLIN 2010 -
OVERVIEW
Squarehead is a 3-piece independent rock/pop band based in Dublin. The lineup features Roy Duffy [Vocals & Guitar], Ian McFarlane [Bass Guitar] and Ruan Van Vliet [Drums]. Ruan had played with a number of other bands including The Maladies, Groom and The Walpurgis Family. Ian and Roy had been part of Vimanas.

Their sound is clearly influenced by The Beach Boys with the band creating summery soundscapes. In 2010, The band contributed the track 'Fake Blood' to the Popical Island compilation. A couple of months later, 'Fake Blood' would become the band's debut single released on Any Other City Records.

The following year was a buy one for the band. In March, the trio released its second single, 'Moonlight Enchilada'. In August of that year, the band launched its debut album, 'Yeah Nothing'. The following year, Squarehead jointly released the album 'Out Of Season' with So Cow - each band contributing 5 tracks. The bands second album proper, 'Respect' followed in 2013.

In 2017, after a quiet period for the band, they returned with a stunning summery single, 'Waves'
