DUBLIN 1995 -
OVERVIEW
Somadrone is the musical alias for Neill O'Connor. Neill has been a mainstay on the Irish music scene for the best part of the last two decades playing with bands such as Loretta, Connect Four Orchestra and The Redneck Manifesto. Somadrone has been in existence in one form or another since about 1995.

The band released its debut single in 1999. The 'Let's Depart' EP was a limited edition 10" release which captures four slices of early Somadrone recordings. Over the next few years, Neill was kept busy with his work with the Connect Four Orchestra and The Redneck Manifesto. However, after the c4o went on hiatus in 2003/2004, Neill started working in earnest on his debut solo album. 'Fuzzing Away To A Whisper / Let's Depart' was released in October 2005.

Since then, Neill has concentrated more of his time on Somadrone and this has seen him release two further albums - 'Of Patterns And Purpose' [2007] and 'Depth Of Field' [2010].
