OVERVIEW Soft Cuddly Toys were a relatively short-lived outfit. The band was famous for featuring three quarters of what would become Fight Like Apes. Soft Cuddly Toys was formed in October 2003 specifically to play a tribute gig in memory of Jon Fox, brother of Jamie who had died in September of that year. After playing a couple of gigs, they decided to continue playing together. The next period was spent finding their sounds, writing songs and playing live. The fruits of these labours finally saw the light of day in 2005 when their 'Higher Ground' EP was releeased. The band's star continued to be in the ascendent with high profile gigs such as the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival 2005 and a support slot on The Revs tour. However, soon afterwards, the group disbanded with Mary Kate, Jamie and Tom subsequently forming Fight Like Apes. 2003 - Band formed [October] 2005 - Release of 'Higher Ground' E.P. [28 July] |
