OVERVIEW The Skips was a Dublin-based band which was active during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The group featured a line up of Amanda Claxton [Vocals], Derrick Dalton [Guitar], Pete Corrigan [Bass Guitar] and Darren Nolan [Drums]. Derrick and Darren had previously performed together in Hey Paulette. The Skips are no known to have released any material during its lifetime. However, the band is known to have recorded a Fanning Session in around 1990. The session featured 4 tracks - 'What Do You Mean', 'You're In Love', 'Scream From Within' and 'Forever Free'. After the band split, Derrick went on to play with a number of outfits such as Mexican Pets, $1,000 Wedding, Crumb and Melba. Darren also played with Derrick in $1,000 Wedding and Villa R before hooking up with his former band mate Amanda as part of The Little Beauties.
