OVERVIEW Sive is the musical alias of Sadhbh O'Sullivan, a talented artiist from Co. Kildare. Sadhbh first burst on to the local music scene as part of The Isohels, releaseing the album 'Kooramock' in 2008. She completed a contemporary music course at Ballyfermot College. During this time she learned about different musical styles. She also found herself growing as a songwriter. In September 2008, she moved to Holland to perform with a set of musicians she had met while on a band camp in Germany. She remained in Holland until January 2009 by which time she was ready to return home. It was upon her return that Sive came into existence. She recruited fellow Ballyfermot graduates Eoin Hartwieg on bass and Patrick Hopkins on drums. When Mark Dudley joined on guitar, the line up was complete. The band spent the best part of the next year performing live and building a repertoire of material. In November 2011, the band released its debut single, the excellent 'We Are Moving'. A second single 'Sunkissed' was released at the start of April 2012. The band's debut long player, also entitled 'We Are Moving' followed later that month. 2009 - Sive comes into existence 2011 - Release of 'We Are Moving' single [04 November] 2012 - Release of 'Sunkissed' single [01 April] - Release of 'We Are Moving' album [19 April] |
