SLIGO 1986 - 1987
OVERVIEW
Sid & The Stonecrushers was a mid-1980s band from Sligo. The group was formed by former members of Reverb, Absolute Zero, Auto Da Fé and The Strong Are Lonely. The full lineup included Fran Healy [Vocals], Sean Sweeney [Guitar], Finn Corrigan [Keyboards & Guitar], Sid Rainey [Bass Guitar] and Enda McGoldrick [Drums].

During the band's brief existence, Sid & The Stonecrushers played a blend of post-punk rock. The band is not known to have released any material. In 1987, Sid left the band to join Thee Amazing Colossal Men (who later morphed into Compulsion). His departure gave rise to a name change with the band becoming The Boy The Boy. In its new guise, the band went on to release a double A-side single '.38 Jackson Mississippi / Prizefighter' in 1989. The band is also believed to have be readying a live album for release before splitting in 1991.
