CORK 2012 -
OVERVIEW
The Shaker Hymn is an indie guitar rock band from Cork. The four members had played together for a number of years under the Circus Cat moniker before forming The Shaker Hymn in 2012. That line up includes Caoilian Sherlock [Vocals & Guitar], Robbie Barron [Guitar & Vocals], Donal Linehan [Bass Guitar], Shane Murphy [Drums]. The band return with a more mature sound which doffs the cap at elements of classic rock, glam rock and brit pop in varying measures. The band made its live debut with a gig in Gulpd Cafe in the Triskell Arts Centre on 16 September of that year.

The band released its debut album, 'Rascal's Antique' at the end of May 2014. That year also saw the band invited to perform as part of the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival in Dublin, playing their set in Bad Bob's on the Friday night. The band recorded the follow up album in just nine days. In late 2015, the band released a pair of singles 'Trophy Child' and 'Sucking It Out' - as teasers for the album. The record itself was entitled 'Do You Think You're Clever?' and was released on 01 April 2016. October of that year saw the band return to Dublin to perform in the annual Hard Working Class Heroes Festival.
