LIMERICK | 2010 - |
OVERVIEW Senakah is a rock band based in Limerick. The 4-piece originally came together in 2005 as Seneca. Three of the members, Rob Hope [Vocals, Guitar & Keyboards], Yvonne Conaty [Bass Guitar, Vocals & Keyboards] and Daragh O'Loughlin [Drums] had been playing together in an earlier outfit. They recruited guitarist Brendan O'Gorman to complete the lineup. As Seneca, the band released the singles 'Smile' [2007] and 'Clarity' [2008] as well sa the album 'Sweeter Than Bourbon' [2008]. The group spent a considerable amount of time in the US where it became clear that the name Seneca was already in use in the entertainment world. As a result Seneca became Senakah. The band has recently worked with Noel Hogan [The Cranberries, Mono Band] to record a new album, 'Human Relations' which is due for release later in 2012. However, the group has already released two tasters from the album in the form of the singles - 'Human Relations' and 'The Frontline'. Both of the singles have been well received. 2010 - Seneca decide to change its name to Senakah due to possible copyright issues 2012 - Release of 'Human Relations' single [17 February] - Release of 'The Frontline' single [18 May] |
