DUBLIN | 2001 - |
OVERVIEW The Script is a three-piece pop band from Dublin. The group is made up of Danny O'Donoghue [Vocals], Mark Sheehan [Guitar] and Glen Power [Drums] and came together in 2001. O'Donoghue and Sheehan had known each other for a number of years. Previously, they had performed with MyTown who had seen moderate recognition in Ireland and the UK. The Script released their debut single, entitled 'We Cry' in April 2008. The single performed well and climbed to Number 15 in the UK charts. The following single performed even better peaking at No. 2 in both Ireland and the UK. With the momentum of the two single releases behind them, the band launched their self-titled debut album in August. The collection topped the charts in Ireland. This success was replicated in the UK also. This success led to The Script receiving the award for Best Selling Irish Act Of 2008 at the World Music Awards. In 2010, the band returned with a new single, 'For The First Time' which was released on 03 September. The single topped the Irish charts. The band's second album 'Science & Faith' followed a week later. 2001 - Band formed 2008 - Release of 'We Cry' single [25 April] - Release of 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' single [25 July] - Release of 'The Script' album [11 August] - Release of 'Breakeven' single [11 November] 2009 - 'The Script' is nominated for the Choice Music Prize [January] - Release of 'Talk You Down' single [16 March] - Release of 'Before The Worst' single [14 June] 2010 - Release of 'For The First Time' single [03 September] - Release of 'Science & Faith' album [10 September] - Release of 'Nothing' single [19 November] 2011 - Release of 'If You Ever Come Back' single [04 April] - Release of 'Science & Faith' single [27 May] 2012 - Release of 'Hall Of Fame' single [19 August] - Release of '#3' album [07 September] |
