DUBLIN | 1993 - 1998 |
OVERVIEW Schroeder's Cat was an alternative rock band based in Dublin during the mid 1990s. The group featured Simon Kenny [Vocals & Guitar] and Darragh O'Grady [Guitar and Vocals]. The band took its name from a quantum mechanics experiment by Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger which involved a cat and a radioactive atom. The band, for its part, was also an experiment in sound. Schroeder' Cat debut single was released in 1995 on Ottterbran Records. However, it was with the release of their 1998 EP, that brought the band to a wider audience. The EP featured 4 tracks - 'Sleep', 'Doubledose', '(We Don't Know How To) Say It' and 'The Machine Never Stops'. Schroeder's Cat had planned to release a full album, however, this never materialised. Simon continued to used different variations of the 'Schroeder' moniker - firstly as Schroedersound and then Si Schroeder. Darragh went on to perform with Dacianos. 1993 - Band formed 1995 - Release of 'Schroeder's Cat' single 1998 - Release of 'Schroeder's Cat' EP - Band aplit |
