OVERVIEW Savile Robots was a once off recording project between Garret Lee [aka Jacknife Lee] and Simon Medway-Smith. The partnership came about in 2002 when the pair released the 'Am/Trax' single. Garret, of course, had a long and varied career prior to this collaboration. He started out on the Dublin music scene in the early 1980s in bands such Casablanca Moon. He also went on to perform with garage-rock outfits Thee Amazing Colossal Men and Compulsion from the mid-1980s until the mid-1990s. After Compulsion disbanded in 1996, Garret re-invented himself as Jacknife Lee and went on to produce a body of electronic-influenced music. He also developed his production skills and, over time, became a sought after producer. 2002 - Release of 'Am/Trax' single
