DONAGHMEDE, COOLOCK 2006 -
OVERVIEW
Saccade is a four-piece band hailing from the North Dublin areas of Donaghmede and Coolock. The band was formed in 2006 and features Steve Walker [Vocals, Guitar & Synth], Jay Fowler [Guitar & Programming], Phil Daly [Bass Guitar & Vocals] and Ed Kelly [Drums, Keyboards & Strings]. The band spent the first months together finding their own sound through constant rehearsals, writing sessions and live performances. The first fruits came in the form of 'Choose Your Own Adventure' EP which was released in early 2007. The EP was well received and the lead track 'Wastin' My Time' reached number 5 in the downloadmusic.ie chart. That year the band also made the 'B-Sides And Demos From Sweatbox Studios 2007' album available as a digital download.

A second single, 'Courtesy Class' followed in September 2008. The band then started work on their debut album. The band returned in November 2009 with 'Last Tango', a digital download single. The band contributed the track 'Oinseach' to the annual Ceol compilation which sees band performing one of their tracks in Irish. Building on the momentum, a further EP, 'See How They Fly' followed in February 2010.
