OVERVIEW Republic Of Loose is a funk-rock band based in Dublin. The group was formed out of the remnants of an earlier outfit called Johnny Pyro And The Rock Coma. While the band has undergone a number of personnel changes, the current line up features Mick Tierney [aka Mick Pyro] on vocals, Benjamin Loose on bass guitar & vocals, Dave Haughton [aka Dave Pyro] on guitar & vocals and Andre Lopes on drums and percussion]. A number of peripheral members enhance the lineup particularly for live shows. The band has released 4 albums to date. The debut release, 'This Is The Tomb Of Juice' was released in 2004 and featured the singles 'Girl I'm Gonna Fu*k You Up' and 'Hold Up'. However, it was with the next album, 'Aaagh' that the band really announced its arrival on the scene. The collection featured singles 'Comeback Girl', 'You Know It' and 'The Idiots' amongst others. In January of the following year 'Aaagh' was nominated for the Choice Music Prize. The award eventually went to The Divine Comedy for the album 'Victory For The Comic Muse'. The next album 'Vol IV : Johnny Pyro And The Dance Of Evil' was released in May 2008. The album was to be less successful than its predecessor. However, there were some strong singles in 'I Like Music' and 'The Steady Song'. The latest album, 'Bounce At The Devil' followed in October 2010.
