OVERVIEW Fionn Regan is a folk-rock singer-songwriter from Bray. He first came to attention as part of Bilbo, who released one single 'Slow Wall' in 2000. After Bilbo, Regan set out as a solo artist. He has been influenced by many of the great singer-songwriters including Leonard Cohen, Boy Dylan, Neil Young and Johnny Cash. His first solo output was 'Little Miss Drunk' which was released as a single in 2002. Over the following years, he released a series of acclaimed EPs - 'Reservoir' [2003], 'Hotel Room' [2003] and 'Campaign Button' [2005]. His debut album, 'The End Of History' was released in 2006. The album was very well received and garnered positive reviews from many quarters. The album was, subsequently, nominated for both the Choice and Mercury Music Awards. While Regan did not win either, he had marked his arrival on the scene. Regan signed with Lost Highway Records and his album received a US release in 2007. His track 'Be Good Or Be Gone' graced the soundtracks to US television series 'Grey's Anatomy', 'Nearly Famous' and 'Skins'. Regan returned in 2009, making the track 'Protection Racket' available as a free download single. This was an appetizer for the soon to be released second album. The album, 'The Shadow Of An Empire' followed in February 2010. It was little over a year before the release of Fionn's third album. In July 2011, 'For A Nightingale' was released as a single and acted as an appetiser for the new album. The album, '100 Acres Of Sycamore' followed in August. 2002 - Release of 'Little Miss Drunk' single [29 July] 2003 - Release of 'Reservior' E.P. [10 February] 2004 - Release of 'Hotel Room' E.P. [15 March] - Fionn performs as part of the third series of Other Voices, Songs From A Room which was recorded in St. James Church in Dingle. The series is broadcast on RTE Television in the Spring of 2005. 2005 - Release of 'The Tour' E.P. [19 October]. This E.P. was released as part of Fionn's tour of the UK in support of Turin Brakes. 2006 - Release of 'The End Of History' album 2007 - 'The End Of History' is nominated for the Choice Music Award [10 January] - Release of 'Be Good Or Be Gone' single [February] - 'The End Of History' is nominated for the Mercury Music Award in the UK. - 'The End Of History' album is finally released in the US [10 July] 2008 - 'The End Of History' is nominated for the Shortlist Music Prize [January] 2009 - Release of 'Protection Racket' single as a free download - Fionn Regan performs as part of the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival in Dublin [16 - 18 October] 2010 - Release of 'The Shadow Of An Empire' album [05 February] - Release of 'Catacombs' single [March] 2011 - Release of 'For A Nightingale' single [July] - Release of '100 Acres Of Sycamore' [12 August] 2012 - Release of 'The Bunkhouse Vol. 1: Anchor Black Tattoo' album [07 September]
