DERRY | 2014 - |
OVERVIEW Ports is a four-piece band from Derry. The name may be new but the band has been on the scene for some time. Originally formed in 2012 as Little Bear, the band ended up needing to adopt a new name as 'Little Bear' was trademarked. Therefore, in 2014, Little Bear came to an end with the band becoming Ports. That band consists of Steven McCool [Bass Guitar & Vocals], Mark O'Doherty [Drums], Ryan Griffiths [Guitar] and Conor Mason [Piano]. A few short months after the name change, the band released its first single as Ports. This single was entitled 'Ancient Wave'. The band spent much of 2015 working on its debut album. However, in September, Ports released a second single, 'Gameplay' as a taster for the forthcoming record. They also found time to play the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival in Dublin. 2016 started with a third single release, 'Kingdom' - the final single before the band's debut album drops at the end of May.
