2002 -

OVERVIEW Playtøh was an alternative rock band from Cork. The group came together in 2002 and originally played an acoustic set which featured a mixture of covers and original material. The lineup of the group included Cormac O'Regan [Vocals & Guitar], Magz McCarthy [Violin, Vocals & Strings], Kieran Curtain [Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals], Niall Duncan [Guitar & Piano] and Jonathan O'Keefe [Drums & Percussion]. Kieran had previously performed with Bass Odyssey and The Shades, both well known bands on the local scene. While the band did record a promotional single entitled 'Legend' in 2002, the first official release was 'Closer' in 2004. A further single 'Brighter Skies' followed in 2005 as did the band's debut album.
