OVERVIEW Picturehouse was a Dublin-based po-rock band which was active for the best part of 20 years. The group was fronted by Dave Browne. Dave had previously played with Hidden Fears. Dave was joined in the band at varying times by Aonghas Ralston [Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals], Geoff Woods [Keyboards & String Arranger], Aidan Pearse [Drums], Duncan Maitland [Lead Guitar, Harmonica & Vocals], John Boyle [Drums & Percussion] and Stephen Farrell [Lead Guitar]. During its career, the band was noted for its ability to craft radio-friendly rock-pop tunes such as 'Heavenly Day', 'Sunburst' and 'Love In The Streets'. The band released 3 studio albums - 'Shinebox' [1996], Karmarama [1998] and 'Madness, Sadness, Gladness' [2002]. In addition to this Picturehouse also released the live album 'Bring The House Down' in 2000 and a greatest hits compilation, 'Get Your Hits Out ... The Best Of' in 2004. After a career of almost 20 years, the band split around 2007. Dave Browne went on to launch a solo career and released the album 'Windows To The Soul' in 1998. More recently, he has been fronting the Controversial All Stars who are an 'events' outfit. Geoff has gone on to perform with another 'events' band in BeatClub.
