DUBLIN 1991 - 2000
OVERVIEW
Pet Lamb was a Dublin-based rock band which was active throughout the 1990s. The outfit came together in 1991 with the original lineup featuring Brian Mooney [Vocals & Guitar], Dylan Philips [Vocals & Guitar], Kevin Talbot [Bass Guitar] and James Lillis [Drums]. In 1996, James left the band and was replaced by Dave Lacey. The band quickly signed a deal with Blunt Records and released its first EP, 'Paranoid From The Neck Down' on that imprint in 1993. Shortly after this, the band signed a deal with Roadrunner Records.

1994 was a busy year for the band which saw the quartet release two further EPs - 'Black Mask' and 'Spent'. At the same time, the group was putting finishing touches to its debut album. The long player was entitled 'Sweaty Handshake' and was released at the end of January 1995. The band travelled to New York later that year to work with Martin Bisi on the sophamore release. Bisi is known for his work with the likes of Sonic Youth. The album 'High Anxiety' was recoded with Bisi. However, Pet Lamb were dropped by Roadrunner before the album was released in 1997.

The band hooked up once more with Blunt Records in 1998 and went on to record one more album, 'Tenderness'. This was released in April of that year.

Th band split in 2000. Dylan went on to form Dinah Brand which was a departure from the musical style of Pet Lamb. Dave Lacey joined Dinah Brand for a period also but has since gone on to perform with Legion Of Two and The Jackson 5. Brian later played with 3 Pin Din which was an instrumental rock outfit.
