OVERVIEW Iarla Ó'Lionáird is a traditional singer from Cork. He is one of the foremost exponents of the Sean Nós style of singing. He has released a series of albums since he first emerged on the scene - 'The Seven Steps To Mercy' [1997], 'I Could Read The Sky' [2000], 'Invisible Fields' [2005] and 'Foxlight' [2011]. Iarla has also been a key member of Afro Celt Sound System with whom he has a number of albums. As part of the Afro Celts, Iarla has been Grammy-Nominated 1997 - Release of 'The Seven Steps To Mercy' album 2000 - Release of 'I Could Read The Sky' album 2005 - Release of 'Invisible Fields' album - Iarla O'Lionaird performs as part of the fourth series of Other Voices, Songs From A Room which was recorded in St. James Church in Dingle.
