KILKENNY 2003 -
OVERVIEW
This Kilkenny 3-piece formed in the Summer of 2003. It started out, simply as a long-awaited jam between friends who were always busy in other bands. However, with Steve's prior band self combusting and with Slave Zero taking a break, both Steve and Bob decided to jam just to have a musical outlet. A few sessions proved that this could be something more but bass players were few and far between in the greater Kilkenny area. It was only a few weeks later on a weekend trip to Cork that Eamonn expressed an interest. Being a guitarist, Eamonn was never considered previously. But sure enough a jam soon followed which quickly spiralled into what is now Nearly Dead Jim. The contrasting musical backgrounds of the members has a defining shape on the fusion brought to teh music. Bob previously has only played in metal bands and is also the drummer for Slave Zero. Eamonn's exploits has been as a session guitarist while Steve has fallen into the singer-songwriter category as well as playing lead guitar with Vent.
