OVERVIEW Noelie McDonnell is a folk singer from Tuam, Co. Galway. He worked as a secondary school teacher in St. Patrick's Secondary School in his native town. He emerged as a full-time singer-songwriter in the mid 2000s with a style which could be described as folk-rock or alt-rock. In 2004, he issued the limited edition 'Downhome' collection. His first full release, the self-titled 'Noelie McDonnell' followed a year later. The first track in the collection, 'Stars' was name Song Of The Week by Ian Dempsey on his Today FM radio show. In 2008, he released 'Beyond Hard Places', his second full album. The track, 'Nearly Four' got to Number 15 in the Irish Charts. In 2009, Noelie recorded an Irish-language version of the song, 'Tri Bliana D'aois', which was included on the 'Ceol '09' compilation. In November of the same year, Noelie released his third album, 'Come Alive'.
