OVERVIEW : The band got its name from a 1984 Canadian B-grade horror film of the same name. The name had been Dave Conway's idea, "it seemed like some good words" was apparently the reason. 1984 - My Bloody Valentine formed in Dublin - The band decide to relocate to Berlin where they record their first material 1985 - Release of 'This Is Your Bloody Valentine' E.P. [January] - Release of 'Geek' single [December] 1986 - The band move to London - Debbie Googe joins on Bass Guitar - Release of 'New Record By' single [September] 1987 - Release of ' Sunny Sundae Smile' single [February] - Release of 'Strawberry Wine' single [August] - Release of 'Ecstacy' [November] - Dave Conway leaves the group and is replaced by Bilinda Butcher [Guitar & Vocals] 1988 - Release of 'Ecstacy And Wine' [February] - Release of 'You Made Me Realise' single [August] - Release of 'Feed Me With Your Kiss' single [November] - Release of 'Isn't Anything' [November] 1990 - Release of 'Glider' single [April] 1991 - Release of 'Tremolo' [February] - Release of 'Loveless' [November] |
