OVERVIEW Monkhouse was a punk band from Bangor, Co. Down. Formed in 1993, the band featured a lineup of Keith Farr [Vocals], Neil Hendry [Guitar], Nick Jago [Bass Guitar], Martin Hewson [Bass Guitar] and Graham McVea [Drums].The band relased its debut single 'Tune In' in May 1994. The lead track was backed by 'Shifter' and 'Choo Choo'. A second single 'What D'ya Mean' followed in November of the same year. The following month saw the band contribute the track 'Guinness And Wine' to the 'Last Christmas I Gave You My Heart (But The Very Next Day You Took It To The Record And Tape Exchange)' compilation. The band released its debut long player in March of 1995. That year also saw the band collaborate with Wat Tyler to jointly release a single. Monkhouse contributed 'Kill Your Parents' and 'I Don't Think So' to the project. That year also saw the band feature on the 'Nothing To Believe In' compilation. The following year saw the band collaborate once more. This time their partners were Strikniën DC. Monkhouse's contribution to the release was entitled 'Gluefoot' and featured tracks such as 'Nothing Like You', 'Freaks' and 'Leeches'. That year also saw the release of the double 7" EP, 'Recognise Your Enemies' The band signed off in 1997 with the release of 'The Final Indignity'.
