OVERVIEW
The Minutes is a rock band from Dublin. The 3-piece of Mark Austin [Vocals & Guitar], Tom Cosgrove [Bass Guitar] and Shane Kinsella [Drums] originally came together in 2003 as The Stars Of The City. The trio released the single '128' in 2005. Shortly after this, they decided on a name change and became The Minutes. In 2008, the band won the Vodafone Bright New Sounds competition. Shortly afterwards, The Minutes released its debut single 'Harmonic'. The following year saw the band release a further single 'Black Keys' before recording its debut album at Marcata Recordings in Upstate New York. The band paid homage to the studio in the title of its debut album.

The album, 'Marcata' was finally released in May 2011. The band toured extensively that year including appearances at the Oxegen, Castlepalooza, Electric Picnic and Hard Working Class Heroes festivals. The band was, dubsequently selected to represent Ireland at the 2012 Eurosonic Festival in The Netherlands. Further singles were lifted from the album in the shape of 'Heartbreaker' and 'Gold'.

The Minutes returned in 2014 with a new set of songs. First up came the lead single 'Cherry Bomb' which was released in April. The following month saw the release of the 'Live Well, Change Often' album. The record reached #12 in the Irish charts.
