OVERVIEW Melodica Deathship was a Hip hop band with a difference. The group came together in about 2007 centred around American Tim Ording [Exile Eye] and George Brennan [Deep Burial]. The band's number also includes Pete Mescalero [aka DJ Mek] from Scary Éire and Belfast boy, Simon Milligan [Epigon ADM]. During its relatively short lifetime, the group prodcued a particularly dark brand of hip whilst incorporating the sound rather unique sound of the melodica along the way. In 2009, the band performed at the 'Dublin Electronic Arts Festival [DEAF]' and contributed the track 'Dub 13' to the promotional CD for the event. The following year, the band launced its debut album 'Doom Your Cities, Doom Your Towns'. The album was warmly received. The Irish Times, for example, gave it a 4 star rating. The band's final release, 'The Sunken Path' followed in 2012. That year saw the band play a number of festivals including the 'Camden Crawl' and'Castlepalooza'. The project came to an end some time after this.
