BELFAST | COLERAINE | DERRY | DUBLIN | TYRONE 2010 -
OVERVIEW
Master & Dog is a relatively new name to the Irish music scene. However, the faces behind the name are well known. Between 2007 and 2010, the band was known as John Shelly & The Creatures. During this period, the band released the fine album 'Dinosaur' in 2010. However, the band felt that a name change was required as John Shelly & The Creatures was 'too long and difficult to remember'. Therefore, Master & Dog was born in November 2010.

The original line up of the band was the same as John Shelly & The Creatures - in other words Walter [Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards, Programming & Drums], Philip Watts d'Alton [Guitar, Vocals, Keyboards, Bass Guitar & Mandolin], Ger Gormley [Bass Guitar, Guitar, Mandolin & Vocals] and Kevin Carlisle [Drums, Percussion & Vocals]. The membership was later increased to include Steven Gilpin [Bass Guitar, Keyboards & Vocals] and Sharon Thompson [Guitar, Mandolin, Keyboards, Glockenspiel & Vocals].

Since the name change, the band has been working on material. The band launched a Fundit campaign to finance the recording and release of band's album. In April 2012, the band contributed the track 'Cold War' to the 'Life Support' compilation in aid of Pieta House.
