OVERVIEW
Imelda Clabby was born in The Liberties in the heart of Dublin City. From an early age she was attracted to music, in particular Rockabilly. After starting her performance career around Dublin, Imelda moved to London in the late 1990s. She initially performed on the burlesque and corporate show circuit but she continued to harbour ambitions of being an artist in her own right. IN 1993, Imelda released her debut album 'No Turning Back' on Foottapping Records.

Her debut was re-recorded and re-released in 2007, this time under her married name - Imelda May. Things moved up a gear in 2008. with appearances on Jools Holland the release of her second album, 'Love Tattoo'. Imelda was invited to perform as part of the 7th series ot Other Voices ::: Songs From A Room which was broadcast on RTE in early 2009. A short time later, May won the 'Best Irish Female' award at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards.

Imelda returned in 2010 with a new EP, 'Psycho' in June. This was a taster to her new album which was released to universal acclaim in September. A further EP was also released during the same month in support of the album.
