MAYO | GALWAY 2011 -
OVERVIEW
Elaine Mai is an indie-pop singer based in Galway. She made a big impression on the local music scene in 2011, which resulted in her being named as a 'Face For 2012' by State Magazine. Elaine is originally from Charlestown in Co. Mayo but moved to Galway to study. During this time she got involved in the local scene and went on to perform for a period with a Galway-based group. She has since decided to plough a solo path. One could be mistaken for considering Elaine to be another in the long list of Irish singer -songwriters however, this would not be an accurate representation of the artist. She has be fascinated with musical experimentation, particularly the use of a loop pedal. This has had a significant impact on her sound.

Throughout 2011, Elaine made tracks such as 'IOU' and 'Softly' available as free downloads from her Bandcamp site. However these were merely tasters of what was to come from the talented performer. In April 2012, Elaine released her debut EP entitled 'Dots'. The 4-tracker features 'Guarded', 'Tainted', 'Rewrite' and 'Live'.
