OVERVIEW Vyvienne Long firs came to the public attention as a member of Damien Rice's band along with Lisa Hannigan. Similar to Hannigan, Vyvienne has been carving out an impressive solo career of her own. One of the first steps in this direction was when she performed her own rendition of The White Stripes classic, 'Seven Nation Army' for the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show on Today FM. The track was ultimately included on the 'Even Better Than The Real Thing ::: Volume 2' compilation which was released in 2004. In 2006, she released her debut EP, 'Birdtalk' which was well received. However, it wasn't until March 2010 that Vyvienne finally released her debut album, 'Caterpillar Sarabande'. 2005 - Vyvienne Long performs as part of the fourth series of Other Voices, Songs From A Room which was recorded in St. James Church in Dingle. The series is broadcast on RTE Television in the Spring of 2006. 2006 - Release of 'Birdtalk' E.P. [15 September] 2010 - Release of 'Caterpillar Sarabande' album [12 March] |
